Are you standing in your truth? Do you feel comfortable in your own skin? Are you true to who you are? This isn’t as easy at it seems.

We all wear masks. We may lower the veil for a select few, but that’s not standing in who we are.
My husband is a rare breed. He is who he is. He doesn’t alter his personality according to those around him. Most of us can’t do that. We’re too worried about what people may think. Will they no longer like us if we differ in opinion? Will they judge us if we don’t agree?
As much as there’s currently an emphasis on allowing people to be who they are, we really want everyone to be the same. If you stray from the majority, you’re branded & ostracized.
We need to embrace others as we crave to be embraced – no false fronts, no multiple masks. The only way to do this is to stand in our own truth & respect that others should do the same.

As much as we tout otherwise, if there were no differences, it would be a mighty boring existence. Expanding our experiences allows for growth and development.
Next time you feel the urge to slip on that mask, think for a second…would you rather close up shop and cut yourself off from who you are? Or take the chance that another might find your opinion refreshing & enlightening?
You’ll never know unless you plant your feet firmly & have that ‘knowing’ that who you are is possibly someone another person may admire. It may also encourage them to do the same.
